We just launched our downloadable games service on Candystand.com, where you’ll be able to try and buy hundreds of quality PC games. Here are a few things you should know about Candystand.com’s Downloadable Games.

All Candystand games you have been playing are still free!
There will be no changes made to existing games you play on Candystand. Everything you can play on your browser will still be free. Downloadable games are yours to purchase and download to your PC (playable even when you’re not connected to the internet) and are separate from Candystand games you already know and love. Downloadable games don’t have tickets or trophies, and high scores will not show up on your profile.

Some downloadable games have free demos you can play online
Many of the games you can purchase have free online versions that you can try out. You won’t be able to earn tickets or trophies for these games, however.

To purchase and download games, you’ll need to register a new Candystand Downloadable Games account
This is not the same as the CS account you might regularly login with. You’ll need to create a brand-new account (through our partner, Trymedia) that you can use to purchase and download games. Unfortunately, we can’t merge the two logins (we wish you could, though!)

If you buy a lot of games, you should register for GamePass
GamePass is a monthly subscription ($6.99 a month) that credits you with one free full downloadable game every month for as long as you subscribe. You’ll also get a discount of $5 off for every other game you buy after your free one. Note: the credit doesn’t apply to all games — you can click on the GamePass Games tab OR look for the ‘Get It Free’ button on a game page to find eligible games.

Once you purchase a game, you can play it for as long as you want on your PC
Even if you cancel your GamePass subscription, you’ll still be able to play the copy on your computer.

Download Insurance is optional
When you add a game to your shopping cart, you’ll have the option of also purchasing ‘Download Insurance,’ which keeps a copy of your game in your account should you need to re-download it (in case of computer theft, hard drive wipe, deletion, etc). Download Insurance is good for up to eighteen months from your purchase date.
