Electric Box on iPhone Getting Five Free New Levels!

Robin Yang on November 3, 2009 at 8:45 pm | Add a Comment

As they say, you can never have enough of a good thing! And in the case of iPhone/iPod Touch owners, the good thing comes in the form of a brand-new level pack for our popular App Store game, Electric Box! The downloadable game came with 50 levels originally, which we updated in September to include ten more levels.

We’re happy to announce that we’ve just submitted an update for Electric Box that will add five new levels to the game, bringing the grand total to **65** brainbending physics puzzles in one sweet game. Did we mention that this update is free to all paid owners of the game?

You can head over to our Facebook fan page to check out a sneak peek of all five new levels. No spoilers, though! We’re only showing you the puzzle, not the solution or the items you’ll use on each level. ;D

The update is currently undergoing review by Apple, and we’re hoping that it will be available by the end of the week. If you’ve already bought a copy of Electric Box, the update will show up in the ‘Applications’ section of your iTunes Library when it is released.

If you haven’t bought a copy… what exactly are you waiting for? There’s a free demo version with 10 levels if you’re risk-averse, and we bet you’ll be jonesing for more when those are done.

Don’t have an iPhone or iPod Touch? You can play Electric Box right on Candystand.com! Additional user-generated levels are available, too.

Electric Box Now Available for iPhone!

The goal of Candystand.com’s popular puzzler is simple: there is a power source, and there is a destination that lacks power. Use the tools in the game to get the power from the source to the destination.

Easy, right?

Well… what if the tools include tea kettles, laser beams, refrigerators, light bulbs, and more? Sounding less easy? What if I told you there were 50 (FIFTY!) levels to puzzle your way through?

While the mechanics are so simple that you can pick the game up and start playing right away, but the game is deep enough to stay challenging for hours. And if you’re already familiar with the online version, you’ll be glad to know that this version has dozens of levels you’ve never seen before.

This is one of the most original and highly-praised puzzlers ever launched online, and its iPhone debut doesn’t disappoint at all. It’s clean, clear, and fun, and it’s so smooth you’ll think Electric Box was designed for the phone in the first place. For the train, for a waiting room, for anytime where you want to stretch your mind and solve uniquely visual and interactive puzzles, this is the game for you. And your friends. And everyone else. It’s awesome.

Nice Review for Electric Box by GameZebo

admin on July 15, 2009 at 10:14 pm | Add a Comment

“More than once during the course of gameplay I found myself muttering out loud about the puzzles I was trying to tackle: “If I have the robot move the mirror then I can turn the power on for the fan, but then I can’t have the kettle powered which I need to keep the light bulb on, so maybe I should…” It’s utterly confounding sometimes, but that only adds to how good it feels to get a puzzle right. There’s a sense of accomplishment for every puzzle inElectric Boxthat ranges from smug to ecstatic, and is often followed by a sense of wonder at the designers of such ingenious puzzles.”
